A day at Countryfile LIVE - First ever vlog

For anyone that knows me, presenting for Countryfile is basically my dream job! In my mind it means getting paid to wear wellies and chat about piglets, bluebell woods and hiking adventures…what’s not to love!

This time last year I finally stopped just dreaming about it. I quit my 9-5 (7 till 7) teaching job and dived head first into the world of Presenting & Social Media. Given that I had no agent, website or if I’m honest… any idea what I was doing what so ever. I started where everyone that wants to become anything does…on Youtube.

This video is my first ever attempt of a ‘vlog’ exactly one year ago at Countryfile Live. I didn’t really know what vlogging was so I kept my brief simple: Film everything from the moment I wake up till I go to bed and see what I come out with!  Hopefully you can tell from it that I had an amazing day out with my Mum and dog fern and I’d highly recommend going (whether you watch the show or not). There’s so much to see and do it’s impossible to get bored!

This week I’m going back for round 2, I can’t wait and while presenting for Countryfile remains a bit of a pipe dream, I’m excited and passionate about the journey I’m now on. Making the career move has been the best decision I’ve ever made and I finally feel like I’m on the right path for me.

If you’re dreaming of something different to what you currently do as a job… just go for it! On average we spend 90 000 hours of our lives at work….NIGHTY THOUSAND… that blows my mind so if you don’t love what you do, start changing it!
